I’ve been following the discussion and appreciating the active, passionate, and informed debate.
It sounds like we all agree that the DAO should determine a framework to guide how we respond to this kind of situation and I see that a consultation period has kicked off (here) to enable everyone’s voice to be heard, to openly debate and refine, and collectively decide.
In the absence of this framework, a decision sits on the shoulders of our node operators. They may choose to reject this, either pending DAO vote or indefinitely, and delay may mean that recovery becomes impossible. Or they may choose to implement it. I do not envy them this responsibility. If we work together to get the framework right, we can hopefully ensure that they’re not in that position again.
This situation clearly cuts into topics that are important to us and I know it’s not something that anyone takes lightly. I’m looking forward to doing everything in my power to support clearer communications and the development of that framework for the future.
