Gnosis Builders 2022 Report
The Gnosis Builders team is a result of the Gnosis Ecosystem Initiative (GIP-38) which introduced a focused multi-year ecosystem development effort. The initial objectives:
- enhance the developer and user experience
- grow developer and user adoption
- increase developer recognition and engagement
- broaden awareness of the platform narrative and values
Our general approach will be to first prepare the groundwork for future growth; then focus on developer, and project onboarding; then focus on transactional and user metrics.
2022 Q3
Q3 began with a few pressing issues for developers: documentation updates, a testnet, and making it easier to get xdai. We launched a faucet, and have been reaching out to wallets and ramps about XDAI and GNO support.

2022 Q4
Q4 saw the merge and a renewed focus on credible neutrality, resilience, and decentralization. One goal for year end 2023 is a truly broad and geographically diverse set of validators. We are working on several fronts to grow and support validation.

Financial Summary
Gnosis Builders was funded on 2022 June 30th with 108 013 GNO and 18 603 stETH.
At the end of the year 2022, Gnosis Builders held 108 000 GNO (8 000 slated for staking), 546 ETH,
and 18 205 stETH (3 133 stETH collateralized, approximately $240k/year yield), and $1,33M of USDC+DAI was borrowed to fund operations (at a cost of approximately $40k/year). Operations received $1,25M of which it spent $1,035M in 2022.
Spend for the next two quarters will be significantly more than the past two quarters as we introduce more ambitious 2023 initiatives.

Chain transaction volumes over the past few months don’t show much of an uptrend:

Of course we expect to see these numbers grow as more projects deploy on gnosis chain in 2023.
The overall macro and crypto environment in Q3 and Q4 suffered from a series of unfortunate events. Given this context, we spent less than expected in Q3 and Q4 in order to conserve budget for 2023. We are actively recruiting developers and projects interested in developing on a resilient and decentralized chain.
