Be careful everyone! I just received a DM from a fake support account (ticketsupport111) trying to lead me to a phishing site: service-explore.vercel.app. They are asking to ‘update account via RPC’ to steal wallet access. Stay safe! ![]()
Hey Fabrizio, thanks for sharing about this and sorry to hear that you were targeted by this scam attempt in DM on Discord.
Scammers are indeed very active now, on every social platform hosting discussions related to cryptos (Discord, Telegram, X, … and even this forum…). On our end we try to do our best to remove scammers from inside the Discord servers and Telegram groups but unfortunately when they are not present on the server itself and send you a friend request/DM directly (like in this case), there’s not a whole lot we can do on our side…. except basically what we are already doing as a prevention: pushing people to read our “scam prevention” channel explaining how scammers operate and how users can protect themselves, or by reposting on the main channel of the server constant warning about scammers (screenshots below).
For the rest these are platform wide issues in my opinion. For example on Discord, I noticed myself that almost all servers related to cryptos are basically facing the same kind of scams targeting users joining the server with friend requests and DMs. As an example I recently joined the AAVE Discord to read the discussions and instantly received 10 scam friend requests from accounts not even on that server (one of the main ways those scam attempts are done now).
But yeah thanks again for the report, we are aware of it and trying our best to tackle the problem, although, at this point, I think Discord themselves should make it harder for scammers to create new accounts and send friend requests as easily as they do today, hopefully things will improve in the future. Until then, stay safe, and read again our warnings all over the Discord. ![]()
