As I understand it, Dai will remain and will be freely convertibility to the ‘NewStable’ so nothing has to change for us immediately. But cause it’s a major change, and I have no idea how much of the market cap from DAI will go to ‘New Stable’ imo it’s something to have a discussion about here.
Especially I am interested how sDAI on gnosischain will cope with this. For sure some the ppl from the gnosis-team and/or @Karpatkey have already analyzed this, and most likely have some plans for the time Maker endgame will be completed. Would be great to get some insight about the possible ways to go.
We are of course looking at it, and are in conversations with Maker team to find a solution that will mostly benefit Gnosis Chain users and GNO holders. As a general comment, sDAI in Mainnet will remain operational and DAI will continue to be freely tradable against USDC in the PSM, so in practice it does not need to change in the short term. If we happen to find an opportunity, we will post a GIP with all details.
I know that fees have always been paid in stablecoin and that DAI and Gnosis are very linked but why not take advantage of the MakerDAO migration to use $GNO as a gas token on the Gnosis Chain?
cause using a stable to pay fees is one of our main features distinguishing us from other ecosystems and important to remain resilient to the ups and downs in crypto valuation.
