MVP Proposal: :brain::tornado:Brainstorm

1. Why Brainstorm?

Most DAOs today operate like centralized companies, with leadership driving proposals and decisions. This underutilizes the community’s collective intelligence. This app aims to harness the full brainpower of the community through decentralized, stake-weighted decision-making.

2. Overview

users stake community tokens (e.g., ETH, GNO, AAVE etc) to become a member of the community. Now they can submit and vote on questions. Voting power is derived from stake. 1 token 1 vote. The app uses quadratic voting to reduce whale dominance and better reflect preference intensity.

3. Core Features (MVP Scope)

  • Staking Mechanism:
    Users stake a minimum value (e.g., $1) of any supported token.
    Voting weight is calculated via quadratic voting to reduce whale dominance.

  • Question Submission:
    Users submit open-ended questions (e.g., “How can we improve onboarding?”).
    Requires a stake to post (prevents spam and ensures commitment).

  • Voting System:
    Users distribute voting power across questions or answers.

  • Leaderboard & Reputation:
    Users earn reputation points for participation and high-impact contributions.
    Top contributors highlighted weekly.

  • Simple Frontend:
    Minimal UI showing active questions, voting, and leaderboards.
    Wallet integration via MetaMask or WalletConnect.

I see where you are going with it. It’s not very well thought out yet though.
Similar direction as Ethos goes, basically. There have also been some points mentioned on EthResearch before.
Something about different experiments on other voting methods. Either/Or etc.
Might be worth looking into.
