We’re excited to share our roadmap for this coming year. Our entire purpose is to build tools for everyday people and embrace onchain solidarity. We previously posted our 2025 Wrapped post, so check that out to see our track record. In 2026 we are re-affirming our commitment towards building to go far together. We believe that the potential of this human-centered solidarity tooling is far from achieving its potential. These open rails for building are incredibly underfunded and underutilized. Those who could benefit most, everyday people, are not exposed to these tools.
Bread has been building infrastructure that is able to meet the moment we are facing globally. We demonstrate how people can come together through tough times. When systems change, are co-opted, or deliberately harmed, we want to enable communities to build alternatives. Our tools exist to serve human-centric priorities. Most importantly the solutions to these issues are not new. Many of these old models of solidarity have been tested for generations, and we translate them onto new mediums that serve the challenges of today. We invite you to deploy these tools in service of resilience and generating community wealth.
What we work towards (Vision)
We are unapologetically pro-crypto, pro-blockchain, pro-web3, and pro-onchain tech. It saddens us to see these tools of freedom for all being co-opted. The negative association with fascists, reactionary groups, and those who use the financial system to oppress is doing immense harm to the perception, and adoption of this technology. This negative perception can only be combatted by embracing voices that showcase a different value-base.Things can be different when we reach and empower people in ways that build real agency. We can see millions of everyday people reaping the benefits of being in control of their own money. No matter where they are. Our tools are designed to be resilient and efficient, focused on solidarity-based funding, savings, and insurance
What to expect in 2026
We want to make onchain tech less confusing by building seamless experiences around tools people already understand. The tech should be under the hood. We’re driven by the people we empower, not the complexity of the tech. That is why you can expect:
-
Easier baking (Minting) to increase circulating $BREAD
-
Onramps/Offramps that respect crypto’s peer-to-peer designs
-
More projects building with our tools
-
Stronger privacy protections
-
More solidarity apps (savings circles, mutual insurance, and community support tools)
-
More yield towards projects building for the solidarity
-
More integrations with Gnosis aligned apps and platforms
-
Stronger principled stances on privacy, ownership, and solidarity
-
Diversifying our yield sources
-
Attracting and on-boarding communities with a strong tradition of cooperative economics to Gnosis (Latam, Caribbean, and Africa)
-
Growing revenue to sustain operations - without VC funding
-
Deeper Gnosis alignment. Working with Gnosis Chain and GnosisDAO is crucial - infrastructure and partners who share our vision for cooperative tooling are vital to doing the most good possible.
-
Growing awareness of what we’re building and why it matters
Things to throw in the trash in 2026
- Bootlicking
- Trend-chasing
- VC-grifting
- Extraction economics
In the upcoming weeks we will be engaging more with this Gnosis forum and welcome questions and ideas on our path to building out our 2026 plans.
We’ve been on this journey for over four years. This is only the beginning, we will not stop till this work is done. We are here to see it through. So join ourmovement at Cryptoleftists Discord, bake some bread at fund.bread.coop , give us a follow on our socials and subscribe.
Solidarity today. Solidarity forever.
