Communication regarding validator mGNO withdrawals and withdrawal limits after the merge

I just saw that a few Twitter accounts started to post some older news regarding staked ETH withdrawals on the Ethereum Beacon Chain (see the link below).

@plato-gnosis, @mkoeppelmann To prevent misinformation, fud and attacks that could target GBC it would be good to provide some clarity regarding the folowing “after merge” topics:

  1. Enabling of validator mGNO withdrawals - e.g. Q4’22, Q1’23, Q2’23,… What could be realistict?
  2. Re-stake rewards (create new validators by using the mGNO rewards) even if the withdrawals are not enabled - Will it be possible?
  3. mGNO withdrawal limits - Are there any and if yes, will they be on rewards and/or validators?

I think GnosisDAO can do better than the Ethereum Foundation when it comes to communication.

I don’t have answers to all of your questions, but this page on Ethereum’s site has a bit about withdrawals:

Withdrawing staked ETH or rewards from a validator balance is not yet supported. Support for withdrawals are planned for the upcoming Shanghai upgrade. You should anticipate your ETH being locked for at least one-to-two years. After the Shanghai upgrade you will be able to freely withdraw portions or all of your stake if you wish.

There was a recent article stating that the Shandong testnet (where the Shanghai upgrade is being tested) would continue through September 2023.
