Incubated, developed, maintained and actively used by 1Hive DAO, Gardens today is the largest remaining native governance platform on Gnosis Chain by TVL (per DefiLlama). We are pioneers in the application of conviction voting in web3. We not only host other communities but also dogfeed ourselves by utilizing conviction voting in our governance as well. We believe novel voting/funding mechanisms such as conviction voting, retro funding, quadratic voting are strong tools in terms of better funding public goods, which we see as the north star of cryptocurrency use cases.

Motivation
As one of the few remaining early projects in the ecosystem since the xDai days, we’ve observed many evolutions of this network and the communities and contributors within it, and throughout this have stayed true to our roots, embracing experimentation and community as our core values. Gnosis Chain has been our home since the beginning, and as delegates, we are committed to doing our part as stewards of the network to preserve its DNA as a place that enables grassroots experiments and community-centric growth.
Areas of Expertise
Public Goods Funding
Grown out of 1Hive, a DAO that successfully funded and incubated many of the key early xDAI platforms including Honeyswap, Agave, Celeste, and Quests - all open source - directly from a shared common pool and without any VC capital.
Governance
We’ve experimented with many novel governance mechanisms and are card-carrying proponents of conviction voting to improve the ability for communities to harness collective intelligence.
Community Building
We know communities should be formed around shared values, and our tools are designed with that in mind to facilitate formation of communities around it.
Decentralized Dispute Resolution
Thanks to Celeste (built from an Aragon court fork), we believe the importance of subjective oracles and robust judicial systems in web3, especially in cases where social layer is required for resolving disputes.
Gardens is voting in support of the Gnosis Guild proposal
Gnosis Guild is in our opinion the best possible org to be stewarding a more community-centric Gnosis Chain, and the amount requested looks reasonable given the scope of the work.
The team has a great track record of building valuable stuff, and their experience is especially useful given the recent launch of Circles v2 - a step in the direction of grassroots-level community growth for Gnosis Chain that will benefit from more work on governance infrastructure.
The fact that the proposal allows for payments to be terminated at any time seems like a huge concession from the proposal creators and clearly addresses any concerns people would have on the cost.
We didn’t find the argument convincing that Gnosis DAO is somehow obligated to make these payments, and don’t see any future value for the network in doing so.
