GnosisDAO Governance Summary ~ June 2025

June was a defining month for the Gnosis ecosystem and the broader Ethereum community. As DappCon 2025 returned to Berlin, it brought together over 1,000 builders, researchers, and visionaries committed to creating the open internet—built by and for the people. GnosisDAO’s core mission of delivering human-first infrastructure was showcased across panels, talks, and launches that made it clear: the future is decentralized and it’s user-controlled.

Here’s what moved the GnosisDAO ecosystem forward this month — from the conference floor to the Gnosis Forum.

June 16–18 marked the biggest DappCon yet, with 100+ talks spanning privacy primitives, governance innovation, and beyond—a week where the ideals of decentralization became applications in motion. Gnosis-led talks and demos spotlighted how a decade of protocol-building is now converging into usable finance, governance, and identity solutions.

Some Gnosis ecosystem highlights:

  • :keycap_ten: A Decade of Agency: Gnosis co-founder Friederike Ernst opened DappCon with reflections on 10 years of building—from prediction markets to tools like Safe, CoW Swap, Gnosis Pay, and Circles. Her key message: decentralized systems must empower everyday agency—not just wealthy technologists.

  • :cyclone: Circles V2: Martin Köppelmann unpacked the deeper design behind Circles 2.0—personal monetary issuance, demurrage, and scalable trust networks—as a powerful response to financial exclusion. Paul Boes explored when Circles’ web of trust succeeds and fails—and how to design for resilience.

  • :satellite: Gnosis VPN & Web3 UX: Sebastian Bürgel tackled the hurdles in building genuinely decentralized, consumer-ready apps—while Gabriel Fior revealed a future in which AI-enhanced prediction markets like Gnosis AI make collective intelligence a coordination superpower.

  • :shield: Account Abstraction @ SafeCon: Gnosis co-founder Stefan George and Safe teams delivered a powerful call to rethink digital ownership. With EIP-7702 and infrastructure like Safe, the path is open toward truly usable smart accounts. George closed DappCon with a sober take: we’ve built the protocols. Now we must win on distribution.

:ballot_box: GIP-126: Renewal of Nethermind Partnership for Gnosis Chain Maintenance - Phase 3 :camera_flash: Snapshot

GIP-126 passed overwhelmingly in favor, signaling strong DAO support for continuing the long-standing partnership with Nethermind. As the primary execution client and infrastructure steward for the Gnosis Chain, Nethermind has consistently delivered high-impact contributions—from seamless hardfork support to testnet operations and censorship-resistant tooling like encrypted mempools via Shutter.

This renewed agreement provides 750,000 DAI in funding for the first year (beginning June 2025), with a 4% annual increase, extending Nethermind’s scope across Ethereum roadmap alignment, client performance, protocol upgrades, and chain stability.

The overwhelming approval reflects widespread recognition of Nethermind’s proven reliability and the critical role it continues to play in maintaining and evolving Gnosis Chain infrastructure.

:ballot_box: GIP-127: Compensation for Lost LP Opportunity in EURe/sDAI Pool - Phase 2 :owl:Gnosis Forum

GIP-127 sought to reimburse Balancer EURe/sDAI pool liquidity providers for unrealized earnings caused by a misconfigured rate cache that created arbitrage windows. The configuration issue, active from October 2023 to early 2025, was originally surfaced by community member NolanV, who also provided an in-depth incident report and data analysis.

The proposal outlined a reimbursement plan of 330,000 xDAI distributed over three months, in addition to a 33,000 xDAI bounty for NolanV. Though the forum vote signaled majority support, the proposal has not yet advanced to Snapshot, leaving the final decision pending further deliberation.

Results (Gnosis Forum):

• In Favor: 64%
• Against: 36%
• Total voters: 14
• Status: Pending Phase 3 Snapshot
