The GIP Process
GnosisDAO governs through Gnosis Improvement Proposals (GIPs). These are binding, on-chain decisions that set the ecosystem’s strategic direction and allocate treasury funds. GnosisDAO ratifies, refines, or rejects through the GIPs process.
As defined in the GnosisDAO Participation Agreement, every GIP moves through three formal phases:
1. Ideation: Share your idea with the community and gather early feedback.
2. Formal GIP: Refine your proposal using the official template and run a structured forum poll.
3. Snapshot Vote: Submit for the official, GNO-weighted vote that decides final approval.
Approval isn’t the finish line. Once a proposal passes, proposers are expected to track implementation and post regular progress updates so the community can hold delivery accountable.
