[RFC] Gnosis x Lighthouse

Voting with Gnosis using Lighthouse has been available for a while now. This post formally introduces Lighthouse Labs to the DAO so more people are aware of our native mobile voting interface and platform features.

We will be using this thread to communicate relevant feature updates and capabilities to the DAO.

Our platform offers several practical features for governance participants:

  • New proposal notifications
  • Voting on Snapshot proposals using your Safe
  • Sign in with Ethereum over Reown

We highly recommend you checkout the breakdown on how we using multisigs with Snapshot works. As it was the result of a lot of deep work!

As this is our first touch point with the DAO, we welcome feedback and will be monitoring to answer any questions.

If there are specific features that you would like to see, we’re open to exploring development options to better serve your governance needs and would love to connect with the right people.

Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to your thoughts.

If you would like to learn more about what type of company we are:

Thanks!

Great to see you here, Arnold! Delegates were just voted in, which concludes GIP-101 published Stablelab and karpatkey. Now that the GnosisDAO has 10 delegates, I think it makes sense to explore what Lighthouse has to offer.

Are there aspect to Lighthouse that would benefit our delegates and make it easier for them to coordinate on governance?

Hi John, Thanks for the welcome!

Great to see a program like this coming to life.

With regards to how Lighthouse can be beneficial to the DAO, we have a few strategies in various stages of maturity that when composed offer a holistic approach to securing DAO operations.

  1. Native Governance client (iOS/Android)
  • Given Gnosis is on Snapshot, DAO members are able to leverage both voting with their EOA and Safe wallets.

Because we have a native client, it means we can leverage push notifications to notify members of proposals and votes. This offering a systematic approach to how we can notify members of proposals and votes.

Even if they eventually do not use the native client to place their votes, it still acts as a communication channel to track the progress of proposals and votes.

We have a rich Roadmap of features that we plan to ship in the coming months, and we’d love to get your feedback on what you’d like to see.

Our evolving docs can be found here: https://docs.lighthouse.cx/using-lighthouse/features

This is live and available to Gnosis now.

  1. Dispatch

This is a tool that allows DAOs leaders to send campaigns to their community members. With this software (Secured with EOA and Safe) we offer the ability to communicate broader (non-proposal) information to the community.

This tool is currently in beta and we’d love to get your feedback on what you’d like to see. We are working with some DAOs to commit these “communications” on-chain.

This solves some compliance issues with regard to how communication is conducted in a decentralised environment. ie. There is a growing body of research that requires DAOs to be transparent with their communication. (See DUNA administrator https://www.tally.xyz/gov/nounsdao/proposal/729)

We believe that placing these communications on-chain will help with this.

  1. Signals

Our time in the DAO space has shown us that there is a need for a more efficient way to track the members sentiment in DAOs. Many DAOs, members elect leaders to represent them in the DAO however at any given time it is very difficult to gauge what are the current objectives of the org?

We developed a tool that allows DAOs to create “signals” that track the sentiment of the community long before proposals are created. Providing additional utility for governance tokens.

You can read more about Signals here: https://mirror.xyz/lighthousegov.eth/M2MQV8O-AOoLW9RAK3zpsRSHZ2vsp9CRlaOPgUbpyHQ

With all our tooling we are implementing and exploring ways to bring more governance data on-chain so we can create more efficient and transparent DAOs.

You can read more about our Ecosystem contributions here and how all these efforts are coming together.

We would love to have the support of Gnosis to help champion these ideas.
