Staworth Limited - Delegate Platform

Proposal: GIP-129

Vote: For

Reasoning: We confirmed our support early on, and believe the strategy with Seldon and GIP-129 is ideal for the growth of this product and a model for DAO-funded initiatives like this. We note that we’ve volunteered to serve on the Gnosis VPN Committee as a DAO representative. We do not consider this presents any conflict of interest in choosing to support this proposal, particularly given that the Committee sought out an elected delegate specifically as a good representative of the DAO’s wider interests.

Proposal: GIP-139

Vote: For

Reasoning: We lean towards supporting this extended partnership for additional network performance and security metrics. As explained in our comment, we appreciated the clarification from Armog that this partnership is already providing value, but that the additional metrics are “nice to have” additions aimed at improving the experience for operators and major network participants. We also appreciated the milestone-based structure, and felt the ask was reasonable when framed against these deliverables and time periods. However, we would have preferred to see more feedback and referrals from validators and other network participants to support this ask. As a non-technical delegate, it is hard to gauge the precise utility (and, therefore, value) of these services.

Proposal: GIP-137

Vote: For

Reasoning: The success of the delegate program so far has certainly been mixed. The recent spate of quorum struggles have reinforced that Gnosis governance remains far from complete and properly decentralised. More change is needed if we’re going to escape reliance on a couple of core whales and founders. However, we feel that these difficulties are not a reason to simply give up. The delegate program has increased the throughput of proposals, and inspired more action across the DAO. In some cases, like GIP-128, it has empowered the DAO to take meaningful decisions about the Gnosis ecosystem and business operations without relying on those involved in Gnosis Ltd, which is essential for the credibility of Ltd’s future funding from the DAO. We therefore encourage and endorse the continuation of the delegate program for a further 6 months.

Proposal: GIP-140

Vote: For

Reasoning: As stated in our immediate reply, we are strongly supportive of bringing staked and liquid-staked GNO into the Snapshot strategies to expand eligible GNO and help with meeting quorum. The spate of recent quorum failures show that dramatic action is needed if this DAO is to continue to function. We hope that 140 will provide an immediate improvement.
