Update Guidelines
The GnosisDAO should make sure that transparency is maintained after funds are transferred by requiring that the community is informed about the progress and results of the GIPs in a formal manner. Thus teams should give regular updates once a GIP has passed. Below you can find an overview when updates should be given.
Proposals submitted after 13th March, 2023
From March 13th 2023 milestones will be introduced into the GIP process. These milestones will help to ensure that projects are delivered in the proposed manner. Once the milestones are completed the teams should prove this via project updates.
Low-tier GIPs = anything under $ 50K
- Low tier GIPs are not bound to milestones. Here an update should be given once the GIP is finalized or every 6 months
Mid-tier GIPs = $ 50K - 250K
- Updates should be given according to the completed milestones
- Min every 6 months
Top-tier GIPs = anything over $ 250K
- Updates should be given with the completed milestones
- Min on a quarterly basis
GIPs that passed before 13th March, 2023
All proposals that passed before that date are also required to give updates. We ask the teams to give updates according to the timelines listed below.
Low-tier GIPs = anything under $ 50K
- 1 update is required once the project is finalized or after 6 months
Mid-tier GIPs = $ 50K - 250K
- At least every 6 months, also a final conclusion should be given at the end of the project
- if it runs for less than 6 months it should be given once it is finalized
Top-tier GIPs = anything over $ 250K
- Quarterly updates are required for the duration of the funding period
- Final project conclusion should be given at the end
Continuous funding
Some GIPs get monthly or quarterly payments in those cases the updates should be given on a recurrent basis until the the payments are suspended
Low-tier GIPs = anything under $ 50K per year.
- Yearly update
Mid-tier GIPs = $ 50K - 250K per year
- Update every 6 months
Top-tier GIPs = anything over $ 250K per year
- Quarterly updates
GIPs without funds attached
Some GIPs are not requiring any funding. Here it also would be interesting to evaluate the impact of those GIPs on the GnosisDAO. We invite the authors behind those GIPs or any DAO member to look into the effect of the GIPs and post an update in the thread.
