Introduction

Breadchain Cooperative is a network of cooperative projects building the infrastructure for post-capitalist institutions. The Breadchain Cooperative builds Solidarity Primitives - development tools which help to forge solidarity between individuals and collectives. The first solidarity primitive created by the Breadchain Cooperative is the BREAD community token found on the Bread Crowdstaking Application built on top of Gnosis Chain. The primary infrastructure being built at Breadchain is to ask ourselves what if progressives had their own community currency and credit union? Where would we decide to put resources towards to build a post-capitalist political economy?

Delegate Motivation

Breadchain Cooperative is with Gnosis for the long haul. Our top priority is ensuring the sustainability of the Gnosis DAO community not just financially but also in how it interacts with community members. Governance systems that promote plurality along with harmony are the strongest and we think Gnosis DAO has all the ingredients to have such a community.

Below is our platform that we believe will resonate with many in the community.

  • Grow the Gnosis Community - We believe that the suite of Gnosis products form a potential toolbox for autonomous communities to express sovereignty in various ways. Breadchain is a community of communities that can tap into and connect their needs with Gnosis products, exposing Gnosis products to a new market. We want to pass proposals that help onboard and reach new users that can take advantage and become part of the community.

  • Represent Gnosis Builders - Breadchain builds on Gnosis products already and has plans to integrate more into the ecosystem through newer products like Gnosis Pay and Circles. We are a cooperative and community oriented group that is working to bring more users on to Gnosis products including those that are not normally involved in crypto. We are builders on Gnosis infrastructure in the wild therefore we deeply understand what kinds of proposals could help other potential builders.

  • Ensure Community Ownership - Decentralization is important not just for technical systems but also for governance. We also want to be the voice for those advocating for building for decentralization within Gnosis beyond technical systems. We believe this happens through building a robust pluralistic community via transparent communication and expectation setting. We will promote governance practices of transparency so community members have a real voice in the community.

Areas of expertise

Our expertise lies in having a strong understanding of what it takes to build a community that isn’t motivated solely by profits. We also have experience in building on Gnosis products for decentralized communities with a framework of cooperative economic systems. We have built scalable applications without venture capital or other forms of investment backing while still keeping a solid community on Gnosis Chain and plan to do so for the foreseeable future. We believe our perspective will be helpful for representing the interests of those wanting to keep Gnosis decentralized and community oriented.

Adding to this proposal as a Breadchain Cooperative member:

I’m 0xR, an active participant in the web3 universe, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in sociology. I have worked with, contributed to, and managed projects for DAOstack, PrimeDAO, PolkaDAO, Kolektivo, Breadchain, Inverter Network, and Token Engineering Commons. Born and raised in contemporary, colonized Curacao, I am a relaxed and patient person with strong egalitarian and fairness-oriented values. I have been involved in researching, designing, and contributing to web3 initiatives for over 6-7 years.

I began by pioneering the first DAO governance research paper (DAOstack), co-led a groundbreaking DAO in the Caribbean (CuraDAO), and delivered lectures on collective governance using web3 tools, both digitally and in real life. I have served as a DAOplomat and a DAO delegate for several of the DAOs mentioned above. My work has included researching and improving user experiences for DAO products like PrimeDeals, Inverter Network, and Breadchain, as well as designing interfaces for various web3 products and tools.

I have also engaged in public speaking to promote regenerative finance solutions within web3, designed the first DAO-to-DAO partnership platform interface with PrimeDeals, refreshed Breadchain coop’s brand, and further developed the vision of creating a network of cooperatives using web3 tools to build a post-capitalistic world. Additionally, I have simplified and introduced complex concepts like DAOs and web3 to those unfamiliar with the space through projects like CuraDAO and Kolektivo.

We are excited about this Delegate Platform proposal. As a Breadchain Cooperative member, I am eager to become more actively involved in GnosisDAO governance. We aim to contribute to more informed collaborative reasoning and decision-making processes, should Breadchain Cooperative be given the privilege to participate in decentralizing and governing the GnosisDAO. Additionally, I will be a Gnosis validator as a solo staker, further supporting the network’s decentralization and security.
