Is there currently a monthly or quarterly delegate call? I’d like to capture your feedback about how we might improve DAO governance, at least to the extent that we can improve immediate concerns such as forum moderation and DAO docs etc. More generally, I’m interested in the delegates perspective around meta-governance for Gnosis especially after the GIP-99 discussion.
So far we’ve had at least three teams approach us on the forum offering meta-gov solutions. Perhaps if there’s more clarity around exactly what needs attention, the quality of these met-gov proposals will improve. What are you thoughts? If you currently don’t have a scheduled call, I am very keen to get together. Maybe @Kene_StableLab can help facilitate?
Thanks @john_szczepaniak - we completely agree. With many of the complaints about GIP-99 relating to the price tag rather than the substance, we wondered if the best way forwards may be an open request for proposal, leading to a competitive vote (assuming more there’s more than one option).
While we don’t view Curia (GIP-123) or PYOR (GIP-124)'s proposals as complete substitutes to Gnosis Guild (GIP-99)'s proposal, it is interesting that multiple governance proposals should arrive at a similar time. Our preference would always be for a holistic approach focused on effective cost management wherever possible.
As far as we’re aware there’s not a monthly or quarterly delegates call, but we think this would be useful.
I gathered all the proposals/feedback from GIP-99, 123 and 124 along with GIP-112 regarding continued Snapshot maintenance. This is a work in progress. The most pressing need, in my opinion, is Snapshot maintenance. The Gnosis DevOps team has worked to maintain and secure the Snapshot space for the GnosisDAO but continuing this work is difficult with all of the other priorities that DevOps have. Beyond that, this doc captures the more aspirational goals set out in the GIPs from a delegate dashboard to governance design. Let’s deliberate over whether or not the GnosisDAO would benefit from what’s been proposed and at what cost to the DAO.
Feedback from GnosisDAO delegates on this document would be valuable. Leveraging the collective expertise of delegates and community members, I’m confident we can address GnosisDAO’s current challenges with cost-effective, practical, and ambitious solutions @Kene_StableLab@staworth
On the point of a monthly governance call, I believe this will be useful. We are looking to work with @john_szczepaniak to determine a schedule that works for both delegates and the broader DAO.
Regarding proposals to strengthen Governance at Gnosis DAO, we encourage teams to collaborate on joint proposals to engage with Gnosis Governance. This will improve the quality of proposals and potentially make costs more efficient.
