Proposal Background
An initial idea for this proposal can be found in its phase 1 thread. Because of the nature of this proposal and its planning and execution, information about production and logistics contained in this phase 2 post is the most updated yet and should be considered the closest to its delivery form. An example of this situation is the tour’s new title: Cryptorock Tour 2022.
Simple Summary
The mexican band Necromorfo will execute a tour in 14 different cities across the country. The main focus of the tour will be to onboard as many fans and communities as possible to web3 using the Gnosis Chain ecosystem.
Abstract
After months of online web3 onboardings with their fanbase, Necromorfo wants to take an extra step and start visiting different cities in Mexico that take web3 activations to a new level. With the support of the Gnosis community and using live shows as an educational bridge, we are convinced that music can be the best door for people to make their own on-chain transactions and learning how to engage with web3 and the broad tools it offers in the longer term. We also want to start seed communities in small cities to foster the share of knowledge around web3 and follow up with them to facilitate the flow of updated information and tools in the Gnosis Chain ecosystem. We’re convinced this experiment will ignite an unprecedented network effect of empowerment of cultural communities across Mexico.
Motivation
Decentralization is not only a fundamental element of blockchain technology, it is also an effect of human behavior in society and the way its culture is developed. Because of the empowerment that this project brings to communities, we believe that cultural collectives will be able to incubate their own projects in the near future, without having to reach out to the systematic structure that has always centered opportunities around Mexico City. Being longtime members of the xDai/GC community, we can’t think of a better place to develop these ideas.
Specification
- GnosisDAO will provide $15,000.00 USD to Necromorfo, in exchange for onboardings and brand placement in 14 cities across Mexico.
- The tour aims to reach at least 1,200 show attendees, of which our goal is to onboard a 10% to Gnosis Chain.
- A follow-up with local communities in the next months after the tour will encourage further local onboardings using Gnosis Chain.
- The funds provided by GnosisDAO will be transparent at all moment. A detailed, updated pre-production expense report can be found here.
- Giveth is most likely to be a co-participant
- Necromorfo will include a feature documentary film executive-produced by GnosisDAO around the tour in their deliveries.
Rationale
We’re going through key times for growth and adoption of web3. We think this project will ignite the sharing of knowledge in smaller communities in Mexico, where we face something that has never happened before: Latinamericans building digital infrastructure for Latinamericans. We like to think of this project as some of the beginnings of this phenomenon.
To provide further insight into Necromorfo’s audiences, as requested by the community, we facilitate the following analytics from their main social media platforms.
Implementation
This proposal is to be executed between July 12th and August 12th. With approximately 3 months of post production for the documentary content. The project will cover the following cities in the specified dates and venues:
